Double Trace Memory on Silicon Control Bus Analyzers

Silicon Control Bus Analyzers The 650x series (all boards: PCI, CPCI, PMC, PC/104, VME) have a trace memory upgrade, about double the size it was before, with no price change. The 850x series has some price reductions on the larger memory sizes. Silicon Control has also added a -5 version for both the 650x and 850x series. This -5 version is a 2M x 144bit trace memory capacity. Before, the largest trace memory was 1M x 144bit.

All bus analyzers have a Serial and USB port. There is also an optional Ethernet adapter available if users want to connect the analyzer to their network.

VersaLogic Releases Linux Quick-start Package

Linux Quick-start PackageVersaLogic Corp. today announced a new Linux support package for its Pentium M-powered EBX single board computer (Cobra). The package is based on the popular open source Debian Linux which has been adapted for easy installation and full support of the Cobra’s hardware features. The Linux install CD greatly simplifies hardware setup by eliminating the need for programming and driver installation on the part of the developer. The Debian Linux OS can be used while in development stages as a means of exploring the capabilities of the board, or it can be used as the base OS in a complete embedded system.

With the use of bundled software, embedded engineers are able to move through the development stage faster and obtain an advantage over the competition. Engineers who have expressed interest in the Linux OS, but aren't familiar with the required set up procedures are the target audience for this software. VersaLogic’s VP of Engineering, Gary Harris states, “This package makes Linux installation on the Cobra as easy, or easier, than most other commercial operating systems."

The software CD is available as part of a product evaluation order of a VersaLogic Cobra single board computer.
